In the USA most of these polygonal flows exist in Southeastern Washington. There some outcroppings of this type of basalt in smaller amounts in California, Idaho and Montana. This stone makes for outstanding benches in parks, schools and other public grounds. The columns are also easily turned into water fountains or incorporated into waterfalls.
