There are some types of rock deposits that just have some many colors in the rock that the material just defies any one selection or a few selections so we decided these multil colored, multiple personalty boulders needed to be their own group. These rock materials are heavily mineralized, and often contain a lot of copper, gold, silver, iron and other elements. These boulders are commonly found as over burden from mining operations past and current. The geology of multi-colored boulders is usually that of rhyolite, dolostone or granite.
