Tons and Cubic Yards
Almost all rock materials are sold by the ton because the material quarried, hauled and handled by the ton. The local rock or masonry supply yard may sell these materials to you by the "skip," "scoop" or yard but those prices had to be figured out from the quarry scale house and trucking receipts that come with each load. That is the same principal used here on the web site. Materials listed on this site in cubic yards have been priced out from the tonnage cost of material and trucking those materials from the quarry.
Price Per TonHigher value materials such as bocce court mixes, imported pebbles, flagstone and building stone and quarry direct shipments of decomposed granite and other aggregates, it is our policy to charge by the ton for full or half truck loads and almost always our drivers have the receipts from the scale house at the quarry to show upon request.
At our service yards most bulk materials are sold by the yard, the buckets on our machines are 1 yard or greater. Boulders are sold by the pound / ton or as individual specimen. Most pebble, glass and flagstone and building stone products are sold by the pound / ton.
