Bocce Ball courts are covered with a 3-inch playing surface. There are a few very popular methods for doing this;
1. A mixture of oyster shell 75% and 25% oyster shell flour
( this method is very difficult and requires a lot of work over months to get compacted )

2. Pure oyster shell flour ( this method is the most difficult and requires a lot of work over months to get compacted )
3. A blended mixture of oyster shell, oyster shell flour, and decomposed granite. The rate is typically 1 ton of blended material per 100 per square feet. This is the most attractive and economical and least difficult to install of the three oyster shell material surfaces.
